Website Terms
These terms apply whenever you read or use British Hotels Guide. They are written to be readable rather than intimidating. By using the site, you accept them; if you disagree with them, please do not use the site.
What our articles are, and what they are not
Everything published here is general information for everyday life: household routines, technology at home, hobbies, food, personal matters, travel and places to stay. It is written carefully, but it is not professional advice tailored to you. Our team are writers, not qualified engineers, electricians, medical professionals, lawyers or financial advisers.
Before you act on anything that involves electricity, gas, water, chemicals, your health, your money or a legal obligation, please check the manufacturer's instructions and speak to someone properly qualified who can look at your circumstances. Always follow product labels and safety warnings, and never mix cleaning products unless the manufacturer says it is safe.
Accuracy
We aim to be accurate and up to date, but details change: services are renamed, rules are revised and products are discontinued. We cannot promise that every article is complete or current at the moment you read it. When we find or are told about an error, we correct it, as described on Fixing Our Mistakes.
Using our content
The text and design of this site belong to British Hotels Guide unless stated otherwise. You are welcome to:
- read and print articles for your own personal use;
- share links to our pages anywhere you like;
- quote a short passage, as long as you credit British Hotels Guide and link back to the original.
Please do not republish whole articles, copy large sections, or present our work as your own without written permission. For anything beyond a short quote, ask us first through the Reach Us page.
Streaming and other services
Where we discuss television, streaming or online services, we assume you are using services that are licensed and legal where you live. Any provider we mention runs its own service, and we cannot help with accounts, payments or technical faults on their side.
Links to other sites
Some articles link to websites we do not run. We include them because they seemed relevant when the article was written, but we have no control over their content, availability or privacy practices, and a link is not an endorsement. Their own terms apply when you visit them.
Limits of our responsibility
To the extent the law permits, we are not liable for any loss or damage arising from reliance on information on this site, from temporary unavailability of the site, or from websites we link to. These terms do not try to exclude any responsibility the law says cannot be excluded, including for death or personal injury caused by negligence.
Your data
How we handle personal information is explained on our Data Protection page.
Law and changes
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. We may update them from time to time; the version published here is the one that applies.
